100 Uzbeks Embark on "Presidential Hajj"

The spring of 2026 has become a time of spiritual fulfillment for a hundred residents of Uzbekistan. Under the "Presidential Hajj" program, trips to Saudi Arabia were granted to those who have served society for years but lacked the financial means to fund the journey themselves.

100 Uzbeks Embark on "Presidential Hajj"
At the President's initiative, 100 compatriots—ranging from scientists and doctors to service staff and cleaners—have embarked on a free pilgrimage. The selection was conducted by the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan in strict accordance with established procedures. The 2026 season is in full swing: from May 2 to May 18, flights to Medina are departing from nine national airports. In total, 15,000 Uzbeks will visit the holy sites this year. For other pilgrims, the cost of the trip is set at 77 million sum.
