A Record-Breaking Year for Uzbekistan’s Economy
Uzbekistan closed 2025 with the strongest economic results in its history. Gross domestic product exceeded €123 billion, exports rose by 23%, and foreign investment reached nearly €37 billion, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said in his annual address to parliament and the nation.

Despite global economic turbulence, supply chain disruptions, and rising commodity prices, the country maintained steady growth. Gold and foreign exchange reserves surpassed €51 billion, while major rating agencies upgraded Uzbekistan’s sovereign credit rating from BB– to BB.

Economic expansion translated into tangible improvements in living standards. Power generation reached 85 billion kWh, 135,000 new housing units were commissioned, and the national poverty rate fell to 5.8%, with 1.5 million people lifted out of poverty in 2025 alone.

Looking ahead, 2026 has been declared the Year of Mahalla Development and Social Prosperity, with priorities including job creation, SME support, digital governance, green development, and judicial reform.
