Alibaba's new version of Qwen 2.5 surpassed its competitors: the Chinese giant is challenging world leaders in AI.

Alibaba Challenges DeepSeek
Alibaba presented the updated Qwen 2.5 Max AI model, claiming that it surpasses the famous DeepSeek-V3. The release of the novelty on the first day of the Lunar New Year was a response to the rapid growth of China's DeepSeek startup, which shook the world market and caused the fall of shares of large technology companies.

According to Alibaba's cloud unit, the new Qwen 2.5-Max model "shows the best results in all respects," bypassing popular AI models such as GPT-4o, DeepSeek-V3 and Llama-3.1-405B. The launch took place a few days after the release of the DeepSeek-R1 model, which shocked Silicon Valley and led to investors reviewing the plans of the largest companies on AI spending.

In addition, two days after the appearance of DeepSeek-R1, the Chinese company ByteDance presented an update of its AI model, stating that it outperformed the o1 model from OpenAI in tests, which only increases competition in the Chinese AI market.
