Alisher Samadov Appointed Accounts Chamber Chairman as Timur Butunbayev Takes New Presidential Administration Role

Alisher Bakhadirovich Samadov has been appointed Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The appointment was formalized by a decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Following his appointment, Samadov was relieved of his position as Head of the Department of Legal Expertise and Comprehensive Analysis of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan. His candidacy had previously been approved by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
The position of Chairman of the Accounts Chamber had remained vacant since January 2025. It will now be held by Alisher Samadov, who previously headed the Department of Legal Expertise and Comprehensive Analysis of the Presidential Administration.
The decree also introduces a change in the leadership structure of the Presidential Administration. Timur Nuryigitovich Butunbaev has been appointed Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Water Reforms and Head of the Department of Legal Expertise.
In connection with the appointment, Butunbaev was relieved of his position as Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration for Reforming the Water Supply System.
The decree therefore provides for Samadov’s appointment as Chairman of the Accounts Chamber and his release from his previous position in the Presidential Administration. At the same time, Butunbaev moves to a new role focused on water reforms while taking charge of the Department of Legal Expertise.
