In Lausanne, Switzerland, Uzbek athlete Anvar Anvarov claimed a brilliant victory at the Diamond League stage, winning the gold medal in the long jump.
The latest stage of the prestigious Diamond League athletics tournament took place in Lausanne, Switzerland. The highlight of the competition was the stunning performance of Uzbek long jumper Anvar Anvarov, who secured first place.
Anvarov recorded a mark of 7.84 meters, beating Switzerland’s Simon Ehammer (7.72 m), who finished second, and Jamaica’s Tajay Gayle (7.71 m), the 2019 world champion, who took bronze.
This triumph was historic for Uzbekistan: Anvarov became only the second athlete from the country to win a Diamond League stage, following high jumper Safina Sadullaeva.
His victory in Lausanne marked another step forward for Uzbekistan’s athletics on the global stage.
