Pre-orders for the highly anticipated augmented reality headset will start on 19 January.
The Vision Pro headset, priced at $3499, provides users with a 4K display for each eye and allows them to switch between augmented (AR) and virtual reality (VR) using a dedicated slider on the side of the device. The device features a dual-chip system including Apple's M2 processor and a new R1 chip designed to process data from the inbuilt sensors, cameras and microphones.
Users will also be able to operate the interface without the use of a controller as the device supports eye, head and hand motion tracking.
Along with the base model Vision Pro with 256GB of storage also comes a range of accessories including Solo Knit Band and Dual Loop Band, seals to improve light isolation, Vision Pro case, polishing cloth, battery, USB-C charging cable and power adapter.
The device runs on Apple's visionOS operating system, which the company claims is compatible with most iPhone and iPad apps without the need for additional tweaks by developers.
