Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan May Establish a Joint Polypropylene Venture with SOCAR

Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are discussing the creation of a joint venture for polypropylene production with SOCAR's involvement. The project is expected to be launched in the Khorezm Technopark.

The venture will also explore producing high-density polyethylene in cooperation with SOCAR Polymer. Additionally, projects involving the production of propylene from methanol and other chemical products are being considered.
Uzbekistan already hosts large chemical manufacturing plants such as Navoiazot and Maxam-Chirchiq, with a combined production value exceeding $1.5 billion and export revenues of $500 million.
This joint venture with SOCAR is expected to strengthen ties between the two countries and boost chemical industry exports.
