$15 Million TISU Cambridge International School Opens in Termez

TISU Cambridge International School has officially opened in Termez as part of cooperation between the University of Cambridge and Termez University of Economics and Service. Developed as a $15 million project, the school is designed for 480 students and provides education based on international programmes.
The opening ceremony was attended by Surkhandarya Region Governor Ulugbek Qosimov, students, parents, representatives of the older generation and members of the public. The new school has been equipped with modern classrooms, laboratories and the infrastructure required for an international learning environment.
The educational process involves 17 international teachers as well as qualified local specialists. Their participation is intended to give students greater opportunities to study foreign languages and modern subjects in an international academic environment while developing skills needed for further education.
The school’s educational model is designed to prepare students for further study at higher education institutions in Uzbekistan and abroad. According to the official TISU Cambridge International School website, Cambridge international standards are combined with Uzbekistan’s national curriculum, with Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE and A-Level programmes offered.
Cooperation between TISU and the University of Cambridge began earlier in 2026. In February, the partners announced plans to improve English-language teaching at the university using Cambridge methodology and to establish the TISU Cambridge International School.
The launch of the school expands access to international education programmes for students in Surkhandarya and creates an additional pathway for those planning to continue their education at universities in Uzbekistan and other countries.
