Barack Obama and his wife Michelle have endorsed Kamala Harris as a candidate for the 2024 presidential election. The former US president promised to do everything possible to get Harris into the Oval Office. Yesterday, current President Biden, in an address to the nation, announced his withdrawal from the presidential race to make way for a new generation.

Former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as a candidate in the November 2024 presidential election. This announcement was posted on Harris's social media page on X.

"It means so much to me to have your support, Michelle Obama and Barack Obama. Let's get to work," wrote the vice president, accompanying the post with a video of her speaking with the Obamas over the phone.

The former president told Harris that he proudly supports her candidacy and will do everything possible to get her into the Oval Office. His wife expressed confidence that Harris's campaign "will be historic."

Yesterday, current US President Joe Biden recorded an address to the nation explaining his decision to withdraw from the presidential race. Sitting at a desk in the Oval Office, he stated that he "deserves a second term" but should not put personal ambitions above democracy. "I have decided to pass the baton to a new generation; this is the best way to unite our nation," Biden noted.
