Biden's visit to Jordan cancelled
Jordan has cancelled a four-party summit on the situation in the Gaza Strip scheduled for October 18, Al Jazeera reported, citing the country's Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi.

The meeting was to be attended by US President Joe Biden, Jordan's King Abdullah II, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas.

According to the Jordanian foreign minister, the decision was taken after consultations with Palestine, Egypt and the US.

Earlier, Mahmoud Abbas had refused to attend the summit. According to The Times of Israel's source, the Palestinian Authority chief did so in protest against the attack on a hospital in the Gaza Strip. The White House also confirmed the cancellation of Biden's trip to Jordan.
