World
The government of Bolivia has declared a state of emergency due to the devastating floods caused by heavy rains.
According to President Luis Arce, the disaster affected 209 municipalities, destroyed hundreds of homes, and claimed the lives of 51 people.
The rainy season, which began in November 2024, has reached its peak. The authorities say the current rainfall is the strongest in the last 40 years. The introduced emergency regime will allow for more prompt response to the situation and accelerate the elimination of the consequences of the disaster.
