Direct air communication opened between Turkestan and Samarkand
The first flight from Turkestan to Samarkand took place on 22 March at 21:20. On the platform, passengers were warmly greeted by musicians and girls in national Uzbek attire with refreshments.

"The launch of flights between Turkestan and Samarkand in 2024 is very symbolic. After all, for this year Turkestan is declared the tourist capital of the OTS, and Samarkand - the cultural capital of the CIS", - said the official representative of the National Company Kazakh Tourism Alisher Tursyn.

Recall that the city of Turkestan is located in the south of Kazakhstan, 160 kilometres north-west of Shymkent.
