“Diriyah” Biennale Opens New Horizons in Contemporary Art

In Riyadh, the Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, Gayane Umerova, joined the opening of the 3rd edition of the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale 2026.
On this occasion, she extended her congratulations to the leadership behind this major cultural milestone: His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture; His Excellency Rakan AlTouq, Assistant Minister of Culture; and Her Excellency Aya AlBakree, CEO of the Diriyah Biennale.
Located in the JAX District — one of the Kingdom’s most dynamic creative hubs — biennial’s public programme included of talks and performances. Organised by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation, this year’s Biennale brings together over 65 artists from 37 countries. Under the theme In Interludes and Transitions, it reflects on movement, migration and cultural change — timely questions, thoughtfully explored.
