President Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined new priorities in the healthcare sector: increasing wages, eliminating part-time employment, and expanding the staff of specialists. The system for determining disability will also be reformed, and the quality of primary medical care will be improved.

Doctors in Uzbekistan will receive up to $1500, and pediatricians will increase
At the videoconference meeting dedicated to the next stage of reforms in the healthcare sector, the head of state emphasized that healthcare funding has increased sixfold in 7 years and reached 42 trillion soums in 2025.

A comprehensive system has been successfully implemented in our country that connects mahalla medicine with specialized services. Today, more than 400 high-tech operations are being performed not only in the capital, but also in the regions. For example, kidney transplantation operations are performed daily.

The number of doctors per 10,000 population in Uzbekistan is 27 people. This is the same figure as in the USA, Great Britain, and Finland. Nevertheless, the President emphasized:

"We have no problems with the number of medical workers or with financing. But what about the quality?"

Key changes:
From June 1, all doctors and nurses in the primary care unit will work only full-time - no 0.25 or 0.5 workload.
The number of obstetrician-gynecologists in polyclinics will double.
A norm is being introduced: 1 pediatrician for every 3 thousand children.

In new polyclinics, the base salary shall be:
500 dollars for family doctors.
300 dollars for nurses
If they have a qualification certificate, they will receive twice as much - up to $1,500 and $600-800, respectively.

Disability reform:
Starting June 1 in Tashkent and Navoi, and from September 1 throughout the country, Uzbekistan is abandoning the corruption system of medical advisory commissions. The determination of disability will be carried out on the basis of documents drawn up by a family doctor and approved by the commission of medical and social expertise.
