Doha and Dubai topped the list of the most competitive labor markets in the world

Company Resume.io compiled a rating according to LinkedIn, based on the number of responses to the vacancy during the week and compared 130 cities from around the world. Doha topped the list of the most competitive labor markets. Dubai and Istanbul are located behind the capital of Qatar.
Qatar's capital Doha, the UAE city Dubai and Türkiye's largest city Istanbul were among the places where the largest number of candidates for one job ad on LinkedIn was registered during the week, according to a study conducted by an online company Resume.io.
The top 10 cities with the most competitive labor markets according to the study looks like this:
Doha — an average of 399 people respond to a vacancy per week;
Dubai — 283;
Istanbul — 168;
Johannesburg — 160;
Abu Dhabi — 149;
Madrid — 116;
San Jose — 108;
Buenos Aires — 104;
San Francisco — 92;
Tel Aviv — 83.
Qatar's predominance in this list is probably due to the hosting of the World Cup last year. Since 2010, the country has spent more than $250 billion to prepare for the championship. In particular, almost 100 new hotels were built, the port and airport were expanded, roads were repaired.
