Eco Police Uncover Poaching and Illegal Saxaul Logging in Bukhara Region

Eco police conducted raids in Uzbekistan’s Bukhara region, uncovering cases of poaching and illegal saxaul logging, with total environmental damage exceeding 48 million sums.
Eco police officers carried out a series of raids in the Bukhara region and uncovered serious violations of environmental legislation, according to the National Committee for Ecology.
Inspectors identified 10 individuals involved in illegal hunting. The poachers captured 94 wild ducks and 23 coots, causing damage to wildlife estimated at 48 million sums.
In addition, the raids revealed cases of illegal saxaul logging. Two citizens involved in the destruction of this protected plant species were detained.
Procedural measures are currently underway in connection with the identified violations.
