Egypt proposes an alternative to Trump's plan for Gaza
At the summit in Cairo, the leaders of the Arab states agreed on the Egyptian initiative to restore Gaza, which is intended to replace the controversial US project. Unlike the "Middle East Riviera" concept proposed by the Trump administration, the Egyptian plan excludes the forced deportation of Palestinians and involves large-scale investments in the war-torn region.

The plan includes the creation of a temporary administrative committee that will manage Gaza after the conflict ends. The committee will include independent Palestinian technocrats, and its activities will be under the control of the Palestinian Authority (PA). Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas expressed his readiness to hold presidential and parliamentary elections, while Hamas stated it supports the initiative but demanded that the committee's composition and objectives be aligned.

However, the US and Israel are skeptical of Cairo's proposal. Washington stated that this plan does not take into account the real conditions in Gaza and does not provide for the elimination of Hamas. Israel also expressed disagreement with PA's involvement in sector management, insisting on the complete disarmament of the Islamic group.

The financing for the Egyptian plan should come from the Persian Gulf countries, such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE. However, there is no consensus among Arab states regarding Gaza's future: the UAE demands immediate disarmament of Hamas, while other countries suggest a more gradual approach.

The situation remains tense. The US continues to promote its concept, while Arab states are trying to find a compromise solution. Whether Egypt and its allies will be able to implement their plan depends on their ability to secure international support and negotiate the future of the Palestinian enclave.
