Election Campaign for Parliamentary and Local Council Deputies Launched

Today, the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting. The meeting addressed the issue of elections for deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and local councils.
As is known, according to Article 128 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Jokargi Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and the regional, district, and city representative bodies of state power are held in the year their constitutional term expires, in the third decade of October, on the first Sunday.
In accordance with Article 128 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Articles 14 and 36 of the Election Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the elections for deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local councils will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
The Central Election Commission, based on the deadlines set by the Constitution and the Election Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, announced the start of the election campaign for deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local councils from today, July 26, 2024, and approved the calendar plan.
On October 27, 2024, elections will be held for the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the regional and Tashkent city councils of people's deputies, and the district and city councils of people's deputies.
