Erdogan approved Sweden's accession to NATO

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has approved the protocol on Sweden's admission to NATO. The document was published in the government newspaper Resmi Gazete. This is reported by Anadolu Agency.
The “Protocol on the accession of the Kingdom of Sweden to the North Atlantic Treaty”, signed in Brussels on July 5, 2022, was ratified.
Ankara has thus officially completed the process of approving Stockholm's membership in the alliance.
Hungary remained the last country in the North Atlantic Alliance that did not accept the application. A candidate country's application for NATO membership must be approved by all members of the alliance.
Sweden, along with Finland, applied for NATO membership in the summer of 2022. Finland joined NATO in April 2023.
