Erdogan Threatens Israel with Direct Military Intervention
World
Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have reached a critical breaking point: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has openly declared his readiness for military intervention in the conflict on the side of Palestine and Lebanon. Ankara is signaling that its operational experience in Libya and Nagorno-Karabakh could be applied against Israel.
Delivering a harsh critique of the IDF’s actions, Erdogan accused the Israeli leadership of genocide and disregarding human values. According to the Turkish leader, the ongoing attacks on civilian settlements in Lebanon, which have forced 1.2 million people to flee their homes, demand a decisive response. "We must be strong. Just as we entered Karabakh and Libya, we can do the same to them," the President emphasized, adding that nothing prevents Turkey from taking such steps.
The situation is further complicated by the collapse of regional diplomatic efforts. Despite a short-term truce between the US and Iran, the Islamabad negotiations on April 11 hit a deadlock, while Washington's maritime blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has only added fuel to the fire. Meanwhile, Tel Aviv and the White House categorically deny that the "Lebanese front" was included in the ceasefire agreement, sparking sharp opposition from Ankara. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan noted that Israel is deliberately seeking to label Ankara as a new adversary, as Israeli state strategy allegedly "cannot exist without an enemy."
