EU Prepares Fast-Track Path for Ukraine

The European Union is developing a simplified accession process for Ukraine, Financial Times reports. The new two-step system could replace the current “Cold War-era” model, allowing Kyiv to integrate faster in the event of a peace agreement.
Under this scheme, Ukraine would not be required to meet all existing membership criteria, but its rights as a member state would be limited: access to the single market, EU budget, and subsidies would be partial.
