Focus on Ecology: New Deputy Head Appointed

Uzbekistan has made a new кадровое appointment in its environmental governance system, reinforcing the role of the Eco-Police and the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change.
Fazlitdin Salomov has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change and Deputy Head of the State Environmental Control Inspectorate (Eco-Police).
The appointment was formalized by Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration.
The Eco-Police was established in November last year and is vested with specific law enforcement powers in the field of environmental protection. Its responsibilities include preventing and addressing environmental violations and strengthening compliance with environmental legislation.
The appointment is seen as part of ongoing efforts to reinforce institutional capacity and improve the effectiveness of state policy in environmental protection.
