In Scotland, during the eighth international creative festival Eurasian Creative Week, the Hertfordshire Press Award ceremony took place. The main prize in the "Best Adaptation for Children" category was awarded to Gulchehra-begim Mahmudova, while young artist Timur Ahmadjonov received the Gold Certificate.
Gulchehra-begim Mahmudova was honored for her book "The Legends of the Great Silk Road: Adventures of the Spirit of Time." This work is part of a series dedicated to the legends of the Great Silk Road and was first published in English in 2024.
The book has made a significant contribution to the development of children's literature by introducing young readers to the rich cultural heritage of the East. Three more volumes in the series are planned for release in the near future. Additionally, an edutainment park concept named Silkroadland, dedicated to the heroes of the Silk Road, has been developed. The book's presentation in Uzbekistan is scheduled for December 2024.
The Gold Certificate in the Bestseller category was awarded to young Uzbek artist Timur Ahmadjonov for the second volume of the charity comic "Elish and the Wicker Tale." This project was inspired by the book of Azerbaijani writer Kamran Salaev and addresses the challenges of socialization faced by children with autism spectrum disorders.
The comic's protagonist, Elish, overcomes difficulties in communication and adaptation. This comic has gained popularity in many countries. The project has been supported by representatives from 25 nations, including the Earl of Portland, actor Tim Bentinck, and other cultural and diplomatic figures.
