Hamas ready for 'complete agreement' if Israel stops war

The Palestinian movement Hamas has declared its readiness to reach agreements with Israel on settling the situation in the Gaza Strip if Israeli military actions in the enclave cease, according to a statement on the movement’s Telegram channel.
Hamas informed mediators of its position: if Israeli aggression in Gaza stops, the movement is ready to reach a comprehensive agreement, including the exchange of hostages for Palestinians held in Israeli prisons.
According to Hamas, the movement showed flexibility in previous rounds of dialogue, but the Israeli side continued its aggression, leading to the mediators' efforts being thwarted. Hamas and other Palestinian groups are unwilling to continue negotiations amid ongoing aggression and blockade.
On May 6, Hamas approved a ceasefire agreement proposed by Egyptian and Qatari mediators, which included the exchange of hostages and a ceasefire. However, on May 9, talks in Cairo ended without consensus, and on May 18, the Israeli side suspended the negotiations.
The situation escalated after the Hamas attack on Israeli territory on October 7, 2023, which led to an Israeli military operation in Gaza. At the end of November, a temporary ceasefire was established, during which 110 hostages were released, but on December 1, hostilities resumed and continue to this day.
