"I Am a Child of Uzbekistan!": State Launches Grant Pipeline to Awaken National Spirit
Uzbekistan
At a time when global digitalization is swiftly reshaping societal consciousness, Uzbekistan has signaled the start of a massive ideological and cultural overhaul. The Head of State openly addressed a systemic crisis within the domestic arts, noting that beneath a glossy exterior, true national character, the people’s pain, and profound higher concepts are frequently lost. Against the backdrop of intense challenges in the digital sphere—where youth are daily exposed to toxic alien values—the president laid down a challenge to the national intelligentsia. Creators are now tasked not only with restoring the "living breath of the people" to culture but also with forging a powerful digital shield capable of preserving traditional neighborhood values and uniting the nation around a core patriotic ideal.
The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during a milestone meeting with cultural figures, raised a critical issue regarding the deficit of national spirit in contemporary domestic arts. The Head of State observed that many current theatrical productions lack emotional impact, popular songs miss the "living breath of the people," cinema fails to depict genuine national pride and character, and a visual emphasis on format often overrides deep conceptual ideas. Emphasizing that art is the single most potent vehicle for expressing national identity, the President called for literature, cinema, and theater that would inspire citizens, instill honor in the youth, and drive individuals toward self-discovery.
