The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed its readiness to provide Uzbekistan with expert and advisory support in developing a National Strategy and roadmap for nuclear medicine.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Vienna, the IAEA welcomed the country’s initiative to establish a comprehensive approach in nuclear medicine. The agency emphasized that this effort will strengthen the national healthcare system, expand access to oncology care, and facilitate the adoption of modern medical technologies.

Support will be provided within the framework of IAEA’s ongoing technical cooperation programs, as well as the Joint Action Plan for 2025–2027. The agency highlighted its readiness to offer expert and advisory assistance, ensuring that all activities comply with international safety standards and best practices.

Additionally, the IAEA expressed interest in continuing close collaboration with Uzbekistan in the areas of radiotherapy, radiology, and radiopharmacy, contributing to the development of nuclear medicine and related fields in the country.
