Uzbekistan

Starting May 15, families included in the register of low-income families will be classified according to a three-tier system: "red," "yellow," and "green." Such a procedure is established by the President's new decree.

In Uzbekistan, families with low incomes will be divided into categories
According to the presidential decree, now families in difficult financial situations will be divided into three groups, and state assistance will be provided depending on the category.

"Red" category - families where the income per capita is below the minimum consumer spending (669 thousand soums) and there is at least one of the following factors:
  • disability or serious health condition of one of the family members;
  • the presence of a disabled child or other dependent person in need of constant care;
  • a lonely elderly person or disabled person without guardians;
  • loss of a breadwinner or being in places of deprivation of liberty.

"Yellow" category - income is also below minimum expenses, but all family members are able to work and do not have the above-mentioned limitations.

"Green" category - income per family member is within the range of 669 thousand to 1 million 3 thousand 500 soums, while:
  • the family previously belonged to the "red" or "yellow" category,
  • or there is a high probability that she will be included in the register of low-income families.

This system will come into effect from May 15 and, according to the authorities, should increase the effectiveness of social support and the accuracy of its distribution.
