Iran Reinforces Defense of Kharg Island
According to CNN, Iran is strengthening its military presence on Kharg Island by sending additional personnel and air defense systems.

Sources indicate that the administration of Donald Trump is considering using US forces to seize the island as leverage against Tehran.

Military experts warn that such an operation would carry significant risks. Retired admiral James Stavridis said Iran could inflict serious losses on US forces both at sea and on land.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned that any attempt to occupy Iranian islands would be met with a strong response. He added that all enemy movements are under surveillance and escalation could lead to strikes on critical infrastructure in the region.

Located 25–30 kilometers off Iran’s coast, Kharg Island is a vital oil export hub, handling up to 90–95% of the country’s oil shipments, making it one of the most strategically important and heavily protected sites in Iran.
