Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was in Portugal and commented on the words about the "Stop Agreement" in Lebanon. He emphasized that Hezbollah was not defeated.
Speaking about the cease-fire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel in Lebanon, Iran's foreign minister accused Israel of trying to drag the region into a major war and called on the international community to stop Israel's attacks.
"Israel is trying to involve this region in a war on a large scale," Araghchi said, meeting with journalists at the summit. "As for Hezbollah being defeated, it is still strong, and if it wasn't strong, Israel would not have accepted the cease-fire agreement. Hezbollah has recovered and is valiantly resisting Israel in southern Lebanon. and so it will be," he added.
"We don't want war, but we have to be ready. If Israel chooses it, we are ready," Araghchi said.
He also highlighted the painful situation in Gaza and mentioned the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. If there is no solution for the Palestinians, there will be no peace in the region, said the Iranian diplomat.
