Kazakhstan and the European Union signed an agreement worth €3 million aimed at developing projects in the field of critical raw materials. The deal will strengthen economic cooperation and provide the EU with access to key resources in the region.
The document was signed during negotiations between Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu and European Commissioner for International Cooperation Jozef Sikela. The prospects for interaction in the fields of transport, logistics, green energy, and digitalization were discussed.
The agreement is part of the EU's broad strategy to strengthen ties with Central Asia and support the Global Gateway initiative, which focuses on sustainable infrastructure projects with a total budget of €300 billion.
In addition to the raw materials agreement, the European Investment Bank has allocated €200 million to Kazakhstan for the modernization of transport corridors, including the Trans-Caspian International Route, which will become a key link between Asia and Europe.
The parties expressed their readiness to continue the dialogue and develop long-term partnership aimed at economic stability and technological development.
