Shavkat Mirziyoyev: The world today is not the same as before!

April 18, 2025, Friday. Under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a video conference was held on the topic: "Measures to mitigate the impact of global economic fluctuations on various sectors of our country."
At the beginning of the meeting, the President addressed the current global economic situation.
"The world today is no longer the same. It's not just about tariffs or their amounts. The international institutions that ensured stable relations and mutual trust between countries for many years, along with the rules and norms they developed, are now becoming ineffective. Naturally, these processes are creating a chain reaction that could lead to a slowdown in the global economy and a reduction in international trade," said the President.
During the meeting, he also noted:
"According to an analysis by Harvard University, over the past five years, Uzbekistan has improved its position in the Economic Complexity Index by 25 places, moving from 105th to 80th.
Currently, 162 types of national products are recognized as having a 'competitive advantage in global markets'.
As a result, exports have increased 2.2 times in recent years. The foreign trade turnover has reached 57% in relation to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
This is a very significant figure, showing how dependent our economy is on external markets," the President emphasized.
