Kazakhstan can supply up to 10 billion cubic meters of gas to Uzbekistan
Kazakhstan is discussing the supply of natural gas from Russia to Uzbekistan from 1.5 to 10 billion cubic meters. This was reported by TASS with reference to the words of the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliyev.

“Now we are indicatively discussing the volume of transit from 1.5 to 10 billion cubic meters of gas. There it will be possible to further increase [the volume of supplies] depending on the readiness of the Uzbek energy system, depending on the readiness of Russian colleagues to export gas in the required volume,” Satkaliyev said. .

In his opinion, the transit of Russian gas to Uzbekistan is economically beneficial for Kazakhstan. This will allow Kazakhgaz to compensate for losses from the supply of blue fuel to the domestic market.

“This is due to the additional income from transit for Kazakhstan. We will have the opportunity to modernize the gas pipeline system,” says a Kazakh official.

In general, it is planned to direct additional income to the investment program, in particular to the repair program.

Earlier, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan reported that work was underway to prepare the Kazakh section of the Central Asian gas pipeline, the center for transporting Russian gas to Uzbekistan. Completion is scheduled for October 1, 2023.
