Komil Allamjonov became a program advisor at George Washington University
George Washington University (GWU) in Washington, D.C., has appointed Uzbek entrepreneur and media professional Komil Allamjonov as Special Adviser to the Central Asia Program at the Institute for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (IERES).

According to program director Sebastien Peyrouse, the appointment aligns with the institute’s mission to foster dialogue between scholars and practitioners and provide in-depth analysis of reforms and broader transformations in Central Asia.

Allamjonov was welcomed by GWU President Ellen Granberg and Elliott School of International Affairs Dean Alyssa Ayres.

In his remarks, Allamjonov stressed that freedom of speech is a key driver of progress and expressed his commitment to contributing to a deeper understanding of Central Asia’s role and democratic values among global leaders and academics.

IERES described him as an “entrepreneur and media professional” with experience in media, education, and publishing, as well as an activist engaged in road safety and quality education initiatives in Uzbekistan. His projects include Milliy TV, Avtotest Report, and Novda Edutainment.
