Kyiv, EU and US Approve Response Scenario to Russia’s Actions
Ukraine has reached an agreement with the United States and European partners on a mechanism to respond to any potential violation of a future ceasefire by Russia. According to reports, the plan was discussed several times in December and January during consultations between Ukrainian, European and US officials.

Under the proposal, any breach of the ceasefire would trigger a response within 24 hours, starting with a diplomatic warning and, if necessary, actions by the Ukrainian armed forces to stop the violation.

If hostilities continue, the response would move to a second phase involving the so-called “coalition of the willing,” which includes several EU member states as well as the United Kingdom, Norway, Iceland and Turkey.

Should the attacks escalate further within 72 hours of the initial violation, a coordinated response by Western-backed forces, including the US military, would be initiated.
