During a meeting with students at Yonsei University, Macron spoke about forming a “third way” in global politics that would be independent of the US. He emphasized that countries should not be overly dependent on Washington or suffer from its inconsistency.

“By sharing this agenda with South Korea, France, and several European countries, as well as Canada, Japan, India, Brazil, and Australia, we can begin to form a sort of third way,” Macron said.

He also stressed that France does not want to be a vassal of the US or any other powers.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova commented ironically, noting that Macron included India, Canada, Australia, and Brazil among “medium-sized countries.”

According to Bloomberg, European leaders are seeking to distance themselves from the United States, partly amid tensions surrounding Iran. Analysts believe NATO faces difficulties, and some European countries are discussing potential scenarios in case the US withdraws from the alliance.
