Magnus Carlsen wins fifth World Rapid Championship title

Carlsen is 33 years old. He is a five-time world rapid chess champion, having previously won in 2014, 2015, 2019 and 2022. He is also a six-time world blitz champion and the winner of the 2023 World Cup.
Norwegian chess player Magnus Carlsen won the Rapid at the world championship in Samarkand.
At the end of 13 rounds Carlsen scored 10 points. Slovenia's Vladimir Fedoseyev (9.5) took second place, while China's Yu Yangyi (9) was third.
Uzbekistan's Nodirbek Abdusattorov took 11th place. Jakhongir Vakhidov took 30th place.
The winner of the tournament will receive $60,000, the silver medallist - $50,000, and the bronze medallist - $40,000. The blitz competition will be held on 29─30 December.
