The next stage of the World Boxing Cup concluded in Astana, where Uzbek athlete Navbahor Hamidova made history by becoming the first Uzbek girl to win a gold medal at this prestigious tournament.
In the final, Hamidova confidently defeated her title-winning opponent - three-time world champion and Olympic champion from Turkey Busenaz Surmeneli. The match ended in a convincing 5:0 victory for the Uzbek athlete. The victory became a symbolic revenge for the previous two losses against the same opponent.
As a result of the tournament, the Uzbekistan national team finished the competition with one gold and four bronze medals.
