New Electricity Tariffs to Take Effect from May 1
Uzbekistan
Starting from May 1, 2025, new electricity consumption tariffs will be introduced in Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Energy announced the update through its official channel. According to a government resolution, changes have been made to the differential tariff system for households, introducing a new, more affordable pricing tier.
Under the new regulation, the cost per kilowatt-hour of electricity for consumption between 201 and 500 kWh will be set at 800 soums. Previously, a rate of 900 soums was applied for consumption between 201 and 1000 kWh. This adjustment aims to ease the financial burden on average consumers.
In addition, the resolution stipulates that electricity and natural gas prices will be indexed once a year — starting from May 1 — based on the annual inflation rate, but not exceeding 10 percent.
