Orban has been in power since 2010 and is known for opposing military support to Ukraine and its EU membership, drawing criticism from Brussels. His main rival is Peter Magyar, leader of the opposition party Tisa, who supports Ukraine’s European integration.

The prime minister also claimed that Ukrainian intelligence services, with support from Brussels, are active in Hungary to influence domestic politics and remove the current government. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto added that millions of dollars are being spent to change the country’s leadership.
