In the Mirzo-Ulugbek district, a section of the retaining wall of the overpass at the intersection of Temur Malik Street and Buyuk Ipak Yuli (formerly Troitsky Bridge) has collapsed. The bridge was opened after a complete reconstruction and street expansion in August 2024, with the President of Uzbekistan attending the ceremony.

The overpass was built using prefabricated steel structures, designed for a service life of over 100 years.

According to Tashkent authorities, no one was injured. Emergency services, technical specialists, and representatives of responsible organizations were dispatched to the site. The area has been cordoned off, and part of Temur Malik Street is closed to traffic.

A comprehensive technical inspection is underway. Preliminary factors include recent heavy rainfall, soil oversaturation, and increased load on the structure. Authorities will also review design solutions, construction quality, drainage systems, and inspection procedures.

“Based on the inspection results, decisions will be made regarding repair works, and responsible parties will be held accountable if violations are found,” the authorities said.
