Passenger Air Traffic in Uzbekistan Reaches Record High

Uzbekistan’s aviation sector has been experiencing rapid growth over the past five years. In 2024, the number of airline passengers reached 6 million, marking a nearly 15% increase compared to the previous year.
According to the Uzbekistan Statistics Agency, the volume of air passenger transportation has been steadily rising. In 2020, 868,900 passengers used air transport, whereas by 2024, this figure had increased almost sevenfold to 6 million. Compared to 2023 (5.26 million passengers), the growth amounted to 781,000 people (+14.9%).
At the same time, railway transportation has also been expanding. In 2024, Uzbekistan's railways transported 9.8 million passengers, an increase of 177,100 compared to the previous year. The growth rate was 1.8%.
Experts attribute this positive trend to the expansion of flight routes, an increase in the number of flights, and improvements in transportation services.
