Poland's Orion Tobacco to open production facilities in Uzbekistan

Orion Tobacco will open its production facilities in the regions of Uzbekistan at a total cost of €6 million. The large Polish company plans to set up tobacco production, organise coffee packaging and produce chocolate bars.

The Uzbek ambassador to Poland, Bakhrom Babayev, met with the head of the Polish company Orion Tobacco Poland Sp. z o.o., Boguslaw Czernek, the Dunyo news agency reported.
According to the agency, they discussed the implementation of joint projects, in particular the establishment of tobacco production in the Surkhandarya region worth €3 million, organising the packaging of coffee products worth €2 million and producing chocolate bars with nuts worth €1 million in the Samarkand region.
These projects are expected to have a capacity of 60 tonnes of products per month. In addition, more than 500 new jobs will be created. The head of the Polish company said that these projects will be implemented using the investor's direct funds and Polish technologies.
Orion Tobacco is the leader in the production of tobacco products - cigarettes, fine-cut tobacco, pipe tobacco and bottled tobacco in Poland. Its products are exported to more than 20 countries around the world.
