President Holds Talks with China’s Leading Corporations on New Projects

During his official visit to China, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held meetings with the heads of the country’s largest companies, who expressed strong interest in launching new projects in Uzbekistan.

Participants included executives from China Gold, China Datang, Tianjin Rail Transit, Jinchuan Group, China Synfuels, Mizuda, World Agriculture and others. In 2024 alone, Chinese investments in Uzbekistan exceeded $10 billion. The talks focused on cooperation in energy, transport, geology, agriculture, chemical and jewelry industries, infrastructure and tourism development.

Separate negotiations were held with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Chairman Dai Houliang. CNPC’s direct investments in Uzbekistan have already surpassed $5 billion. The sides discussed expanding cooperation through projects such as underground gas storage facilities, infrastructure modernization, and the introduction of innovative technologies.

President Mirziyoyev also met with China National Building Materials (CNBM) Chairman Zhou Yuxian. The company plans to invest in wind and solar power plants, energy storage systems, modernization of pumping stations, and to contribute to the national program on improving industrial energy efficiency. A special “road map” will be prepared to ensure the swift implementation of agreed projects.
