President of Uzbekistan to visit Kazakhstan on state visit

At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit this country on August 7-9.
In accordance with the program, it is planned to hold talks between the heads of state and the first meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council chaired by the Presidents. Issues of further deepening the Uzbek-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance, current aspects of the international and regional agenda will be considered.
The focus is on expanding practical cooperation in the field of trade, industrial cooperation, transport and logistics, energy, agriculture and water management and other priority areas.
It is expected that a solid package of documents aimed at strengthening bilateral relations will be adopted.
It should be noted that business and cultural events are taking place in the capital of Kazakhstan as part of the state visit. The opening of a monument to the great Uzbek poet and thinker Alisher Navoi is planned.
On August 9, the President of Uzbekistan will take part in the next Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the first summit of the Central Asia + Japan Dialogue, which will be held in Astana.
