He highlighted that in the past eight years, state spending on education and science has increased sixfold, hundreds of new schools and universities have been built, and teachers’ work is now receiving proper recognition.

Starting from the new academic year, Uzbekistan will introduce 12-year general education and unified state exams. Admission to technical schools and universities will be based solely on exam results. One hundred technical schools will partner with institutions from developed countries, and foreign language study hours will be quadrupled.

The president also announced new benefits for teachers:
  • The government will cover 25% of the initial mortgage payment for top-category teachers with over 15 years of experience;
  • A 30% tuition discount will be provided for children of teachers enrolled in state universities;
  • Preferential loans will be allocated for purchasing modern computer equipment and studying abroad.

“We will continue our efforts to make teaching the most important and respected profession in society. You, the heirs of great traditions, will be the builders of Uzbekistan’s Third Renaissance,” Mirziyoyev stated.
