Today Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov arrived in the Republic of Tajikistan. This was reported by the Khovar news agency.

During this visit, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon is expected to receive Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov. This is reported by Khovar news agency.

On 12 March, Prime Ministers of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan - Kohir Rasulzod and Abdulla Aripov are expected to meet in Dushanbe, following which a relevant document will be signed.

It should be noted that, on 10 March Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov and Tajik Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizod met in Dushanbe.

"The sides exchanged views on expanding trade and economic cooperation and implementing priority investment projects, including joint production of cars in the Republic of Tajikistan and setting up tyre production on the basis of TALCO OJSC for the needs of Uzbekistan's automotive industry, as well as joint construction of two hydroelectric power plants on the Zeravshan River," the agency wrote.

As it is emphasised, "today Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are among the most reliable and strategic partners".

"In 2023, the volume of mutual foreign trade between the countries amounted to $504.4 million, Uzbekistan with a specific weight of 6.1% was in the 5th place in the structure of foreign trade turnover of Tajikistan", noted in the message.
