Prince Andrew, brother of King Charles III, has been stripped of his title and will vacate his royal residence Royal Lodge, according to an official statement from Buckingham Palace.
The decision follows the emergence of new details about his relationship with American financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of sex crimes and later died by suicide in a U.S. prison.
British media report that recently uncovered evidence suggests Prince Andrew’s ties with Epstein were closer than he had previously admitted.
From now on, he will be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and will no longer use the style His Royal Highness.
