It is worth reminding that this is already Putin's fifth term as head of state. His first two terms lasted four years each; after amendments to the Russian Constitution, the President's mandate was extended to 6 years. Putin served his first six-year term from 2012, and the second from 2018. After amendments to the basic law in 2020, he was able to run for elections in 2024, which he won with a record result of 87.28% of the votes.

Putin's current term of office will end on May 7, 2030.
