Putin will visit China in October

Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted the offer of Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit China in October and take part in the “One Belt, One Road” forum. Putin spoke about this at a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

“Of course, I am glad to accept the offer of the President of the People’s Republic of China [Xi Jinping] to visit China in October this year,” the Russian President said.

“It” unites our ideas on creating a large Eurasian space “and fully meets the interests of both countries,” Putin said.
This visit will be Putin's first trip abroad in 2023.

Xi Jinping invited Putin to China during a visit to Moscow in March. Then the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov noted that the schedule for the exchange of visits between Russia and China is being developed at a high level, and it is too early to name exact dates.

Putin last visited China on February 4, 2022, 20 days before Russia began military operations in Ukraine. During the visit, the President of Russia took part in the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games and met with Xi Jinping.
