Cristiano Ronaldo has surpassed Lionel Messi in the number of goals without taking into account penalties. The 39-year-old Portuguese has 714 goals, while the Argentine has 713.

In the match of the 20th round of the Saudi Arabian Premier League for Al Nasr, Ronaldo scored the first goal in the 17th minute of the game against Al Fateh. This goal was his 21st in 19 matches. He leads the league's scorers list and ranks first in the goal plus pass system. Ronaldo has a total of 875 goals in 1,206 games, while Messi has 821 goals in 1,047 games.

Ronaldo signed a three-year contract with Al Nasr in 2022. His base salary is $75m a year and his total income including commercial payments and his role as an ambassador exceeds $200m.

In February, Ronaldo was voted the highest-paid athlete of 2023, earning $275m, $215m of which he received as a salary at the club. The second place went to Spanish golfer Jon Rahm ($203 million), and the third place went to Messi with earnings of $130 million.
